FIVE STARS! Real heroes are those who put the welfare of others before themselves, even if it means sacrificing their happiness. This is exactly the type of person Brenna is. Author Brenda K. Jernigan has a writing style that made it easy for me to understand and care for the characters. The story hooked me on the very first page and did not let go. And the surprising twist toward the end made my mouth fall open. I never saw it coming. I fell so far into the story that the world seemed to fade away and I lost track of time.
